Grace C. Sheldon
SALEM - Grace C. Sheldon, 99, of South Main Street, died April 28, at the Skilled Nursing Facility, Mary McClellan Hospital, Cambridge.
She was born July 15, 1887, in Hebron, daughter of Edward and Julia Ann Hatch Creighton.
Mrs. Sheldon was the widow of Clarence Sheldon. She had one daughter, Amelia L'Ecuyer, and one son, Russell Sheldon, who died previously.
She was a resident of Schuylerville from 1972 to 1979.
Mrs. Sheldon was a member and organist for many years at Salem United Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Martha Hemphill Society and past president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was also a member of Salem Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and charter member of the Salem Women's Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Edna S. Langford of Salem; a son, Rea D. Sheldon of Salem; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Private services were conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Salem.
The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the General Schuyler Rescue Squad of Schuylerville.
Arrangements were under the direction of the McClellan Funeral Home of Salem.
