Joe Crockett “Jody” Shelton, Jr., 54, of Pleasant View, passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday November 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating.

Interment in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Sam Peach, Tim Peach, Randy Head, John Howard, Phillip “Shorty” Kennedy, and David Woods serving as pallbearers.

Jody was born July 12, 1964 in Robertson County.

He worked as an IFA Area Manager for Nissan in Smyrna and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Jody loved his job, vehicles, music, antique tractor pulls, and was always tinkering with things or doing building projects. He went to all his son’s high school and college wrestling matches. His two most favorite things were going to Panama City Beach with his family, and spending time with his Pomeranian: Bella. Everything Jody did was for his family and his legacy continues to live in each of their hearts and lives.

Jody is survived by his wife: Kim Murphey Shelton of Pleasant View, his sons and daughter-in-law: Zach and Christina Manis Shelton of Pleasant View, and Jacob Shelton of Pleasant View, his daughter: Morgan (Matt Richardson) Shelton of Pleasant View, his parents: Joe Crockett and Martha Poole Shelton, Sr., of Greenbrier, his brother and sister-in-law: Keith and Anong Shelton of Avon, CT, his sister and brother-in-law: Pam and Gary Atchley of Greenbrier, his in-laws: Jimmy and Faye Murphey of Pleasant View, and his special friend and companion, his Pomeranian, Bella.A motorist was killed Tuesday on an interstate highway in Nashville when a chuck of concrete thrown from an overpass crashed through his windshield and hit him in the face, according to a report.
Joe Shelton Jr., 54, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, was on I-24, driving past the Shelby Avenue Bridge in downtown Nashville, when he was killed around 5 a.m., according to Fox 17 Nashville. His Nissan GT-R sports car came to a stop after sideswiping a pickup truck and a guardrail, the station reported.
