65, passed away peacefully at Norton Brownsboro Hospital on November 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. David, one of five children, was born on June 22, 1953 to James "Jim" Ernst and Dorothy (Younger) Ernst in Louisville, KY.
David was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Ellen Ernst and cherished every moment spent with family and was especially close to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David was an avid golfer, a determined businessman and successful sales executive. He was a member of Lifebridge Christian Church.
Preceding him in death are his father; and daughter Kimberly Ernst.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ellen Ernst; daughter Melissa Beatty; son Lenny (Hannah) Helm; mother Dorothy Ernst; brother Kenneth Ray (Diana) Ernst; sisters Debbie (Bob) Riley, Margaret Ernst (Carol) McCollum, Theresa (Donnie) Moser; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for David will be held 10 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home "in St. Matthews." , 3711 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY 40207. The family will receive visitors 12-8 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the funeral home.
