A native of Nashua, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Harry Oscar and Laura Minerva Peters Gallup, she was a retired employee of Allen Bennett Hospital, a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of Greer First Baptist Church and served as Camp Nurse at Camp Marietta.
Surviving are two sons, Michael E. Hawkins of Greenville and H. Gene Hawkins of Murfreesboro, TN; one daughter, Nancy H. Smith of Greer; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hawkins was predeceased by one son, James T. Hawkins and five sisters, Fredricka Hayward, Phyllis Foley, Grace Cummings, Viola Roberts, Ruth Kantargis; one brother, Harry Gallup and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Wood Memorial Park conducted by Dr. Doug Mize.
