Janna E. Kaffka, 83, of Jonesboro died at the Jonesboro Health Care on Friday, May 18, 2007. She was born in Cole Corner in Craighead County to Leonard "Cal" and Neva Drope Bishop. Janna was a retired secretary in the Director's office of the Carl R. Reng Center at Arkansas State University. She was a member of the Cathedral Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1941. She worked for the department of the Army in Florida during World War II as a secretary before returning to Jonesboro in 1946.


Those left to cherish her memory are: daughters and sons-in-law, Kaye and Jim Cook of Reston, VA and Marsha and Bryan Huber of Jonesboro; an uncle, Gerald Drope of Jonesboro; 2 grandchildren, Laura Huber and Lisa Huber George, both of Jonesboro; and a great grandson, Noah George. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cal and Neva Bishop, a sister Faye Kaffka, and a brother, Leonard Douglas Bishop.


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the chapel of Langford-Bookout Funeral Home with Bryan Huber officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery in Jonesboro. Active pallbearers are Bryan Huber, Jim Cook, Shannon Kaffka, Don Hudson, C.J. George.


They will be receiving friends from 5-6:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 212 Natural Resources Dr., Little Rock 72205
