He was born on March 16, 1961 in McComb, MS, to James Edward Thornton and Artress Thornton Holmes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching LSU and the Saints play football. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend.
Preceding him in death were his father, James Edward Thornton; his brother, James G. Thornton; and step-father, Benny Holmes.
Survivors are his son, Scott Thornton; daughter, Emily Olivier and husband Chris; grandchildren, Audrina Marie and Sylas Scott, and Mollea Hood; mother, Artress Holmes; brothers, Greg Thornton and wife Kay, and Gerald Thornton; nephews, Matthew Thornton, James Thornton Jr., and Chris Thornton; niece, Kara Thornton; special uncle, Harold Smith; and a host of family and friends.
