Harold was born on May 21, 1942 in Tilden, IL a son of Alberta James and Nettia Lue (Harris) Kirkpatrick. On October 4, 1963 he married Kay Cross in Freeburg, IL and she survives. Harold was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and worked on the assembly line for General Motors for thirty-six years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marissa, IL. Harold was an excellent poker player, belonged to a poker club, and loved to play cards with his friends and family. He was an avid baseball fan and especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He was very proud of the fact that he attended the very first game in the old Busch Stadium. Harold also loved collecting baseball cards and organizing them. He enjoyed working in his yard, decorating for Christmas, watching westerns, listening to country and gospel music, and traveling all over the world with his wife. But most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren and his great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta James and Nettia Lue Kirkpatrick; five siblings, Delores “Dori” Woodside, Lester “Les” (Sue) Kirkpatrick, Patricia Green, Jerry Kirkpatrick and Bruce Kirkpatrick.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Marissa, IL on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dave Nottrott officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL.
