Frances Strickland, 95, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was born September 20, 1923 in Corsicana, Texas, to Emil and Lovie Pietsch. She died on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. She married Douglas E. Strickland August 27, 1943, and they together lived in Dallas, Houston and St. Louis before permanently becoming Okies in 1958. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Doug, and her daughter. Linda Kay Strickland. She was survived by her son, Ted Strickland and wife Jeannie; grandsons Dax Strickland and wife Carrie; Sean Strickland and wife Leah; Cole Strickland and wife Lindsay; granddaughters, Bridget Gatewood and husband Bennie; and Brenda Kimble. Frances had eleven beloved great-grandchildren, Luke, Colin, Everett, Knox, Jack, Annie, Rowe, Corbin, Britney, Charis and Braeton, and one great-great-granddaughter, Kimberlyn. She was also survived by her loving brother. Howard Pietsch and wife Kathy, of Tyler, Texas. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, 23 November, at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, N May Avenue, Oklahoma City.
