Sergeant Joshua Brian Francis, 41, of Glen Fork, WV passed away on Saturday November 17, 2018 at his home from complications of heart disease. Josh was a 1995 graduate of Pineville High School and after working as a machinist he enlisted in the United States Army in 2001 and was honorably discharged in 2007. While stationed primarily in Germany with the 1st infantry 18th division he was deployed to Bosnia Kosovo region as part of NATO peace-keeping forces and later saw action as a sniper for one year in Iraq.

He was born on August 23, 1977 in Beckley.

Survivors include his wife, Samantha Je Sartin-Francis; his parents Vickie L. Francis-Feller & husband Charles Feller of Mullens and Coy J. Francis, Jr. of Glen Fork; a brother Nathan Francis & wife Jennifer Francis of TX; son, Hunter Frazier of Glen Fork; daughter Julia Kessler of Germany; grandmothers Janet Pruiett and Loretta Francis; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ila Sartin and Neil Farley; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Friday, November 23, 2018 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated following the service.
