Bruce Allen Ford passed away at the age of 70 on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Ocala at Legacy House Hospice. Bruce was well cared for by doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Legacy House Hospice facility. Bruce was surrounded by loved ones when he passed. Bruce was a Conch and a longtime member of the Key West Moose Club.
Bruce was a commercial fisherman all of his life and retired about 11 years ago when he moved to Ocala.
Bruce is survived by his longtime love and best friend Helen “Sonny” Phelps. Bruce was also survived by his only brother, Kent Ford, and his wife, Sharon Ford. Bruce had two children Rebecca Burrin and Russell Ford. Bruce is also survived by his son-in-law Daniel Burrin. Bruce had 10 grandchildren, Zachary Burrin, Jessica Phelps, Jimmy Phelps, Amanda Dennison, Sarah Phelps, Ashley Phelps, Jennifer Phelps, Morgan Burrin, Tyler Ford and Joshua Burrin. Bruce also had seven great-grandchildren.
No funeral services will be held at this time, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date in Key West.
