BROWN CITY -- Alfred E. Weltin, 46, of 4387 West Main St., died unexpectedly Saturday in his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Ubly. He married Irene Schmidt, Sept, 4, 1954 at Argyle.

He was a graduate of Ubly High School and the RETS technical school in Detroit. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of William Setter Post 2943, FVW. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brown City.

Together, he and his wife owned and operated Weltin TV in Brown City since 1955.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Diane Weltin, and a son Alfred Weltin r., all of Brown City; his mother Mrs. Lylan Weltin, Ubly; three brothers, Aaron, James and Calvin Weltin, all of Ubly; four sisters, Mrs. Claire Griska and Mrs. Helen Maurer, both of Ubly, Mrs. Marie Abraham, Royal Oak, and Mrs. Joann Mahoney, Ithaca.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Marys Catholic Church, Burnside. The Rev. Emery Patho, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brown City. VFW Post 2943 will conduct graveside services. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday in Carmen Funeral Home were the remains will be after noon today.
