Elizabeth S. Maas, 92, of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Marquardt Health Center.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon with Rev. Douglas Bergelin officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to family. Elizabeth Susanna Uecker was born on October 14, 1926 to August and Hatte (nee Pieper) Uecker in Hustisford. She was baptized on October 31, 1926, and was confirmed on June 18, 1939 at Bethany Church in Hustisford. On September 1, 1945, Elizabeth married Gilbert Maas at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau. Elizabeth will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and canning produce from her garden.
She is survived by her children, Larry Maas, Ronald Maas (special friend Kathy); grandchildren, Jami (Clancy) Zabel, Troy Maas; great-grandchildren, David Maas, Troy Allen Maas Jr., Clancy Zabel III, Hailey Zabel; step-granddaughter, Diane (Justin) Hamilton; step-great-granddaughter, Janelle Hamilton; other relatives and friends. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gilbert Maas; her parents; five brothers and two sisters.
