She was a lifelong active member of First Baptist Church of Sand Hill, where she taught the Ladies Sunday School class for several years. The majority of her secular career was spent in the front office of Perry County General Hospital, where lasting friendships were developed and maintained even through the years of her retirement. Her unique gift of service drove her toward excellence in maintaining a home, raising kids and grandkids, feeding the flock and giving an honest day’s work for a day’s pay. Mrs. Marilyn was never afraid of allowing her imagination to contribute flair, flavor, and enthusiasm to any civic, church, or family function that she was a part of. Her tender heart not only played out in the lives of her offspring, but also manifested itself with her canine companions, particularly “Dolly Dumplin.” Mrs. Marilyn would proudly admit her devotion to her favorite pets.
On Saturday, November 24, our special Mom will have a one day celebration of her life beginning with a family visitation at First Baptist Church of Sand Hill at 10:00 AM. The public visitation will immediately follow at 10:30 AM. Her final service in her beloved church will begin at 12:00 Noon. Final interment will be at Harmony Hills Memorial Garden in the Sand Hill community.
Jones and Son Funeral Home will provide their professional services during this time of loss.
The family wishes to express their deepest and heartfelt gratitude for the loving support you have demonstrated to Mrs. Marilyn and her family during this difficult time.
