Rebecca H. Terronez, 91, Silvis, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1PM. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, to have masses said in Rebecca's name.
Rebecca Herrera was born May 4, 1927 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Rosario and Juanita (Torres) Herrera. She married Joseph Terronez on November 6, 1948. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, was very strong in her faith and loved praying to her Lord. She was an excellent cook and loved everything to do with her family. Rebecca also enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Joe, children, Darrell (Cindy) Terronez, Silvis, Roberta Terronez, Lakewood, CO, Rebecca Terronez, Silvis, Mary Terronez, Silvis and Lydia (Javier) Riojas, Silvis, thirteen grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and siblings, Lola Segura, Bettendorf, Mike (Audi) Herrera, Bettendorf and Fernando Herrera, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by children; Lencho Terronez, Barb Morrow and Joseph Sebastian Terronez (infant), parents and siblings, Lyle and Ray Herrera and Carmela Lira.
