Floyd Eugene Westbay was born June 3, 1938 in Lamar, Missouri the son of Floyd and Mabel (McRae) Westbay. As an infant, he was baptized and later confirmed.
Growing up, Gene attended school in Rockwell City, Iowa where he graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1957.
On March 5, 1996, Gene was united in marriage to Mary Marlatt Rogness in Newell at their home.
Gene was a member of Nain Lutheran Church in Newell.
In his spare time, Gene enjoyed traveling down to Missouri. He also loved farming. Gene treasured spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
