She was born on August 24, 1939 in Charleston, WV one of nine children of the late Robert Lawrence and Ella Nora Linville Thomas.
She was Baptist by faith and retired from the Bureau of Public Debt after twenty years.
Louella is survived by her husband of fifty-five years Philip L. Gardner, three children Philip Gardner (Morrey) of Parkersburg, Joellen Gardner of Bridgeport, Susan Claypool (Mike) of Titusville, FL, six grandchildren Melissa Melendez, Michelle Thomas, Jennifer Gardner, Vickie Claypool, Spencer Gardner, Michael Claypool, sister Ramona Truman and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Robert, Clyde, Eugene, Maxine, Clayton, Lovell and Marjorie.
The family would like to thank Ohio Valley Health Care for the attention given to Louella during her stay.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
