Herman Earl Allen, 73, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday at Southeast KY Medical Center, Pineville. He was born in Hyden, KY on May 2, 1945 a son of the late General and Orphie Wooten Allen. He was of the Holiness faith and had been self-employed as a Handy-man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lee Howard Allen; sisters, Becky, Mary and Martha Allen and brothers, Beecher and James Clark Allen.
Survivors include his children, Becky (Johnny) Cobb, Herman, Jr. (Amanda Brummett) Allen, Kathy Allen, Jerry Wayne (Christy) Allen. Billy (Donna) Allen, Melinda (Andy) Webb, Jamie (Karen) Allen, James (Pam) Allen, Shirley (Russell) Patterson, Mary Beth Allen and Denny Lee (Patricia Miller) Allen; thirty-nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Sherman Allen; sisters, Sue Allen and Betty Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Travis Chumley and Rev. Arthur Jackson. Music will be by Donna Allen and George Smith. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery at Arjay with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
