Betty Ann Ross, 77, Carthage, MO, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO. Betty Ann Carr was born October 12, 1941 in New Albany, KS, to the late Frank and Nellie (Morgan) Carr. She graduated from Sublette High School, Sublette, KS, class of 1959. She then received her degree in nursing from Missouri Southern State College in 2001. Betty worked as an RN for Mercy Hospital in Carthage, MO. She married Orville Ray Ross on June 3, 1973 in Joplin, MO; he preceded her in death on September 14, 2002. Betty was a member of the Fairview Christian Church, Carthage.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia A. Cunningham (David), Springfield, MO; one sister, Barbara Jean Taylor (Don) Long Lane, MO; four grandchildren, Jacob Browder, Joshua Browder, Mitzi Ross, and Scarlett Ross; and one great grandchild, Ava Grace Browder.
Betty was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Ross, two brothers, Bobby Franklin Carr and Richard Wayne Carr, a sister, Karen Sue Carr, and a great grandson.
Visitation will be held 6-8 pm, Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Fairview Christian Church, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Fairview Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Fidelity Cemetery, Carthage, MO.
