A Bloomfield resident, Mrs. Thelma Burns, age 89, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was the former Thelma Sharp, born May 17, 1929 in Bloomfield to the late Clarence and Alpha Goodlett Sharp Sr. Thelma was a retired employee of Alhom Aluminum, a member of Little Union Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and loved scrapbooking.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burns, and her son, Ronnie Burns.
She is survived by 2 grandsons, Aaron (Felicia) Burns, Chris (Virginia) Burns, her daughter-in-law, June Burns, all of Bloomfield, her sister, Catherine Wilson of Edinburgh, IN., 2 brothers, Phillip Sharp of Taylorsville, Clarence Sharp Jr. of Lawrenceburg, and 6 great grandchildren, Taylor Milburn, Caleb, Lindsey, Kinslee, Braylee, and Nolan Burns.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Burns will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Will Sipes will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 pm. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the Little Union Baptist Church. The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
