Verna was united in marriage to Vern Brown on November 5, 1945. They had three children; Marvin, Janice, and Julia. They spent their early years farming near Lisco. In 1948, they moved to Oshkosh. Verna worked various jobs before working in the County Clerk’s Office for approximately 34 years, serving as deputy county clerk.
Throughout her life, Verna was active at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and several clubs. She loved working in her yard and flower garden. Her iris bed was a beautiful sight every spring. She also loved making hand quilted quilts. She was devoted to her family.
