She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on January 6, 1925, but lived most of her adult life in Galax, VA. Bea graduated from William Fleming High School and attended Ruth Cornett Business School in Roanoke, VA. Bea and her husband, Charlie, moved to Galax, VA, in 1954. They owned and operated Hotel Galax for over 20 years, and were members of The First Baptist Church of Galax, VA. Bea was a volunteer at Galax Regional Hospital for many years. Bea and Charlie enjoyed annual visits to the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY, for many years while he was employed as a sales rep with Reliance Universal and spent summer vacations at Myrtle Beach, SC.
Bea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and being with her family. Bea moved to Greenville in December 2013 to be near her daughter and family. Bea had been a resident of Spring Arbor of Greenville Assisted-Living since November 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie M. Clark; her stepson, Clayton M. Clark; her parents, William Lewis and Dana Eunice Salmons; and her sister, Frances S. McGhee. Surviving are a daughter, Charlene C. Boyd; two granddaughters, Maureen E. Boyd and Jennifer B. Garris and husband, Joseph; granddaughters, Madisyn Elizabeth and Nadia Rachel; daughter-in-law, Barbara Anne Clark and grandson, Craig M. Clark, Roanoke and Salem, VA; niece, Elizabeth Wilbourne; and nephew, David McGhee, Roanoke, Va.
