The death occurred on Saturday, of Mr. Franz Joseph Kopp, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. F. Pioch, Cheapside street, in his 91st year. He was born in Hanover, Germany, and coming to Australia took up residence in Maryborough, where he had resided for 52 years. For many years he engaged in farming at Yerra, and was the lessee of the Cross Road Hotel, Gayndah road, for twelve months. The late Mr. Kopp lived in retirement for 24 years, the first two years with his daughter, Mrs. A. Sengstock, Owanyilla, and the remainder with his daughter, Mrs. Pioch, of Maryborough. The deceased was married twice, his first wife predeceasing him 39 years ago. He is survived by a grown up family by his first wife of two sons and four daughters (there being no issue of the second marriage), namely Messrs. Frank (Maryborough), Fred (Owanyilla); Mesdames C. Streh lau (Thinoomba), F. Pioch (Maryborough), Mrs. T. Pioch (Maryborough), and Mrs. A. Sengstock (Owanyilla). The second wife predeceased him 11 years ago.
