Ellen Grace Hood Taylor, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018. She was born in Jacksonville, Fl, on August 09, 1930. She was the daughter of the late James Herbert Hood, and Annie Elizabeth Brown Hood. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lt Wade Hampton Taylor; sisters, Evelyn Louise Hood, and Juanita Hood; brothers, Herbert Brown Hood, Thomas Hood, Edsel Louis Hood, and Wallace Hood.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Grace Taylor Martin (Gary), Ann Taylor Goodroe, and Susan Taylor O'Steen. (Hal). Her surviving son is Wade Hampton Taylor II. Grandchildren, Andrew Martin, Matthew Martin, Sara Lacy Taylor Rodeghier (John), Wade Hampton Taylor III, (Justa), and Brett Austin Taylor (Ashley), Brooke Goodroe, and Katie Goodroe. Great-grandchildren, Nash Rodeghier, Alyssa Rodeghier, McKenzie Taylor, Owen Taylor, and Layla Taylor. Nephews the late James Edsel Hood, and Thomas Hood, Nieces, Sharon Hood Jones, Carolyn Hood Tyson, Joy Hood Havlik, and the late Elizabeth Hood Pittman. Numerous great- nieces and nephews.

Ellen Grace was of the Catholic faith, and she graduated from St Joseph's Academy in Jacksonville, Fl. Ellen Grace's ancestors were Mandarin Fl pioneers, The Bowdens, Browns, Hoods, Lourceys, Plummers, Hagans, and Hartleys. etc. Her great-grandparents Pvt George Albert Hartley, and Mary Caroline Lourcey Hartley, donated the land where the first St Joseph's Catholic Church was built in Loretto,Fl. She was a proud descendant of the Minorcans, and her ancestors are buried in Tolomato Catholic cemetery, in St. Augustine, Fl. Ellen Grace, will always be remembered for her quick wit, and will always be remembered in our hearts, and prayers."What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us." A graveside service will be held at 11am, Monday, November 19, 2018 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
