Sara Elizabeth Allen, age 93 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at her daughter's residence in Paris.

She worked as a checkout supervisor at Walmart in Paris for 15 years. She formerly owned and operated The Thimble Fabric Shop and was a private secretary for a large construction company in Michigan for many years. Sara was a Christian and a member of the VFW Auxiliary #1889. She loved Bingo, enjoyed sewing, and loved fishing.

Sara was born May 27, 1928, in Paris, TN, to the late Gene Markham and the late Sadie Hastings Markham.

She was married March 3, 1942, to Robert C. Allen, who preceded her in death on October 7, 2017.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Swider of Paris; one sister, Norma Stanley of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Kim (Richard) Williams, Michael Fisher, and John Fisher; two great grandchildren, Dustin (Nora) Fisher and Courtney Fisher; and two great-great grandchildren, Lula Fisher and Emmy Fisher.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Alice Thompson and Patricia Reynolds; and one brother, Jimmy Gene Markham.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242. A private family graveside service will be held.

Burial will follow the private family graveside service in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
