In 1975 Keith began working at Carltonville Gold Mine and in 1976 he began his career at the SABC as a sound technician but he quickly gravitated to cameraman which was his first love. In 1977 he began freelancing and spent several years traveling abroad and working on feature films. In 1980 he switched to commercials where his technical expertise and superb talent of visualising and manipulating concepts put him in the directors' chair. In 1987 he started Velocity Films and rose to the top worldwide. Keith was named as one of the '100 top creative minds of all time'.
He met his precious wife Marie-Louise Brown in 1997 and instantaneously became a father figure to his stepson Roland. Keith and Marie-Louise's first son Sean was born in January 1999 and their second son Luke was born in August 2000. In 2014 Kerry and Richard blessed Keith and Marie-Louise with their first grandchild Ben and in 2016 their granddaughter Lucy was born.
Besides all Keith's numerous career achievements, he loved the simple things in life i.e. cooking and watching sport on TV with his family. He was patriotic and the National Anthem never failed to bring a tear to his eye as he watched his beloved 'Springboks.
Keith is predeceased by his father Dennis Norval Rose and his younger brother Desmond Peter Rose. He is survived by his wife Marie-Louise Brown, daughter Kerry Lamb-Hughes (Richard), stepson Roland Brown, sons Sean and Luke Rose, brother Bernard Norval Rose (Denise) and sister Colleen Rose Nichols (Rob), mother Rita Van Der Walt (Louis Van Der Walt), grandchildren Ben and Lucy, mother-in-law Ouma Anna Breytenbach, brother-in-law Derick Breytenbach (Michele), two surviving aunts, Sheila Little and Daphne Dupont, many cousins, nieces and nephews, three great-nieces and Keith was also God-father to several children.
Keith is deeply and sorely missed by his family and friends.
Gone but never forgotten; Keith's memory lives on forever in our hearts.
