He was a lifelong resident of Des Moines Iowa and then later moved to The Lake of The Ozarks, Missouri full time in 1997. He was a butcher by trade working for Wilson Pack and then later owner of Fleming's Meat Market in Hiland Park. He also was owner of Pickle Farm Swimming Beach until the flood of 1993. He was a member of the Des Moines Ski Hawks; Wayne was a kind and gentle man. Jack of all trades and handyman. He enjoyed the outdoors at the lake, boating, and cooking hamburgers on the grill. He is survived by his loving wife Sondra, 66 years of marriage. His children, Rikki (Bill) Knight; John, of Des Moines, Iowa; Jim (Stacy) of Camdenton, MO. His surviving grandchildren; Chad Knight, Amy Hill, Chris Knight, Katy Knight, Delacy Zeeryrp, Megan Hackbarth, Alex Hawn. Great-grandchildren; Jameson Hill of Des Moines, Kayla and Ethan Knight of Cairns, Australia as well as many Nieces and Nephews and a host of great friends. Wayne was surrounded by the love of his family and friends and our memories will be forever cherished. No services are planned. A celebration of life will be held later.
