Funeral service for Mrs. Eva Caldwell will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 2,2010 at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Bethune, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Young and Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.SC. Mrs. Eva Mae King Caldwell was the loving daughter of the late Noel and Roxie Anna Gantt King. She was born July 12,1929 in Bethune, SC. She was educated in the area and attended Carver Public School of Kershaw County. Because Sister Caldwell grew up in a Christian home, she realized the need to have a special relationship with Jesus Christ. At an early age, she joined Sandy Level Baptist Church. She was a believer in the teachings and expressed her desire to serve God by praising the Lord and singing. She could be heard all through the house singing "I've Got Angels Watching Over Me " and "All Night Long". She received much comfort from reading the 23rd Psalm. At an early age, she was joined in holy matrimony with the late James (Bud) Caldwell.This union was blessed and they were the proud parents of twelve loving children. Sister Eva lived for the Lord and her family. She did everything in her power to make suer her family was well taken care of. She was an excellent cook and everything she prepared was just "finger lickin good". She was fun loving and was always joking around. She took extra good of care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends were extremely important to her. Those surviving to cherish her loving memories are: her children, Willie Lee (Shelby) Caldwell, Willie James Caldwell, Mary (Larry) Prescott, Handy (Michelle) Caldwell, Linda (Lee) Jackson all of Hartsville,SC, Betty Jackson, Dorothy (Robert) Little, Lillie (Bernard) Zimmerman, Brenda (Isaih) Commander and Ronnie (Benita) Caldwell all of Bethune,SC; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty great-granchildren and five great, great-grandchildern; siblings, Isabelle Woods of Bishopville,SC, Susie King, Major (Alberta) King, Nathaniel (Sandra) King, Lillie Mae (Eddie) Simon all of Bethurne,SC;nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Eva King Caldwell was preceded in death by: her parents, Noel and Roxie Anna Gantt King; husband, James (Bud) Caldwell; two daughters, Janie Mae Caldwell and Sarah Ann Moses; in-laws, Dr. Gayla Caldwell and Adolphus Jackson.
