She was the only child of Claude Frederick Freeman (1912-1996) and Tommie Devine Freeman (1917-1992).
She graduated from Fairfield High School, and moved to Chicago, where she worked for the IRS. When she returned to the Birmingham area, she began a long career with the Postal Service, and became the Post Mistress of Clay, and later Alton, AL, from whence she retired. She loved and was loved by her customers, and she spoke of them often.
Nan is survived by her cousins, Ronnie Morton, June Freeman, Tim and Wanda Devine, and Betty Gail Gladbach, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be graveside at Oakland Cemetery, Fairfield, on Sunday, November 16 at 2:00 P.M.
