Carl enlisted in the United State Navy and served in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war, he attended seminary in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He was a well known Southern Baptist pastor whose ministry spanned 50 years throughout southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife: Lola Merle Sams Huddleston; son Bill Huddleston; stepdaughters Danna Pendleton and Jerry Cheek; grandchildren; Laray Keys, Cheryl Busby, James Hoover, William "Butch" Hoover, Kevin Scherer, Myrna Huddleston, Becca Winter- Martin and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Louise (Marberry) Huddleston, daughter: Carla “Claudine” Huddleston Winter, and six brothers; Calvin, Claude, Elbert, Marvin, Robert, and Dwight.
