He was born Dec. 29, 1909, in Yadkin County to the late Virgil and Sarah Royal Swaim.
Mr. Swaim was retired from the James River Paper Co. and attended Mitchell's Chapel United Methodist Church in Boonville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jettie Shore Swaim in January 1990; a sister, Maude Hinshaw; and four brothers, Dolly Swaim, Thad Swaim, Ralph Swaim and Pritchard Swaim.
Surviving are his daughter, Jessie (John) Hall of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Gentry Family Chapel, U.S. Highway 601 N., Yadkinville.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Highway 601 N., Yadkinville.
