Scott Wm. Thompson, 56, formerly of the Pollock Road and most recently 37 Riverside Drive, Canton, died Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 20 from noon to 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton. A memorial service will follow at 2:15 p.m. with Rev. Michael H. Terrell officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Canton.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Morley Volunteer Fire Department or to Canton Fire & Rescue.

Scott was born September 10, 1962, in Ogdensburg, NY. A son of the late, William H. & Virginia M. (Aldous) Thompson, he graduated Canton High School and BOCES in 1982.

He was declared legally blind in 1973, but was always able to help his father with the beef cows and cutting firewood. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, riding the 4-wheeler and hunting. Scott was also an Honorary Member of the Quebec Hunting Club in Santa Clara.

Scott will be fondly remembered by his Aunt Jean Cornell of Canton, several cousins, and dear friends, including Francis Rookey family and Carla Toomey.
