Globe -Gazette (Mason City Iowa ) March 10, 1929 Page 8 -- HAMPTON - Funeral services for Mrs. John Arends, 58, who died at her home Wednesday after a year's illness, were held at the Fox Funeral Home Friday afternoon with Rev. Loren Works, Pastor of the Church of Christ in charge. Burial at Hampton.

Mrs. Arends was a resident of Franklin County since her marriage in 1899 and lived with her husband at Hampton the last 32 years.

Surviving are her husband, six children: Mrs. C. H. Wilmot of Clarksville; Mrs. C. E. Ferris of Waterloo; Mrs. John Otto of Rockwell City; Mrs. Merle Wilson of Hampton; Richard Arends of Hampton; John Arends, Jr. of Hampton; a brother, Ray Hildebrand of California and 19 grandchildren.
