Douglas Clay Lawrence, 82, of Martinsville, passed away November 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Leatherwood on December 12, 1935 to Samuel M. and Lottie Holley Lawrence. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Lawrence; and sister, Dorothy Aaron.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Manning Lawrence; daughter, Debbie Robertson (Charlie); sons, Deane Lawrence (Bonnie), David Lawrence and Dana Lawrence; brothers, Roy and James Lawrence and Jerry Holley; three grandchildren.
Mr. Lawrence was a member of Chatmoss Baptist Church. He was employed by Pannill Knitting Company and later retired from Tultex Corp. He was a Charter Member of Dyers Store Vol. Fire Dept.
Burial will be private at a later date.
