Born August 29, 1950 in Dermott, Arkansas, he was a son to the late Vernon J.C. Cotton and Thelma Dees Cotton.
Charles was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, he attended Dollarway and White Hall Schools before enlisting in the United States Army.
He worked for the Pine Bluff Arsenal and retired in December of 2012 after 30 years of employment.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Elisa Marie Cotton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Martha Ann Jones Cotton; children, Heather Cotton Bowman and Wesley Cotton, both of White Hall; grandsons, Jacob and Alex Bowman; sister, Debby Cotton O’Neill (Lee) of White Hall; cousin, James Cleveland Simmons, who was raised alongside him like a brother; and numerous other nieces and nephews, all of which he loved dearly, and many caring friends
