Howard A. Paul Sr., 92, of Latrobe, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
He was born June 22, 1920, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Louis and Olive (Bisi) Paul.
Howard was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe. He was retired from Latrobe Brewing Co. with 44 years of service. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army. He was a life member of the American Greek Catholic Beneficial Society and the White House Club, where he organized and managed the club's first fast pitch softball team and its first recreational basketball team.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Howard A. Paul Jr.; a brother, Bernard Paul; and a sister, Marie Vincze.
Howard is survived by his wife of 72 years, Catherine (Rellick) Paul, of Latrobe; his twin daughters, Linda Antus and her husband, Stephen, of Latrobe, and Donna Latimer and her husband, Roy, of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Paul, of Youngwood; a brother, Donald Paul and his wife, Cookie, of Derry; a sister, Adeline Smetak, of Latrobe; five grandchildren, Rori Latimer, Rena Bockman and her husband Chris, Brandon Antus and his wife Janice, Chad Antus and Mark Paul; and four great-grandchildren, Cadie Bockman, Grayson Bockman, Zachary Antus and Nicholas Antus. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitations. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Rose Church with the Rev. William P. Donahue as celebrant. Interment will be private.
