Betty Bloomer Yeargin, 78, formerly of 408 Chatham Avenue, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Mary Black Health System-Gaffney, S.C.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Don R. Yeargin and daughter of the late Grady Bloomer and Maybelle Millwood Bloomer Fowler and stepdaughter of the late Ernest Fowler.

She was a homemaker, loved animals, was a member New Hope Baptist Church and a former member of Kirby Church.

Surviving are a son, Dickie Yeargin of Gaffney; a daughter, Tracy McCraw and husband, Lynn of Gaffney; three step-sons, Roger Yeargin and wife, Cindy, of Shelby, N.C., Thomas Yeargin of Edisto Island, S.C., and Don Yeargin and wife, Christina, of Gaffney; fourteen grandchildren, Tanner McCraw, Stanley Yeargin, Jr. and wife, Sara, Brett McBee and husband, D. J., Casey Yeargin, Elizabeth Porter and husband, Daniel, Roger Yeargin and wife, Cheltsey, Rey Yeargin, Caroline Yeargin, Tommy Yeargin, Jr. Kaylie Yeargin, Gracie Yeargin, “Little Don” Yeargin, Addyson Yeargin and Lukas Yeargin; five great-grandchildren; a step-sister, Donna Howie of Kingsport, Tn.; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Yeargin and Barbara Bloomer, both of Gaffney; a brother-in-law, Alvin Yeargin and wife, Alice of Jacksonville, Fl.; numerous nieces and nephews she loved and a special niece, Shelley LeCroy of Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Bloomer, Ralph Bloomer and Sonny Bloomer, a sister, Pat Osteen, a step-brother, F. M. Fowler and a step-sister, Ernestine White.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Oakland Cemetery with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342 or Cherokee County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2223, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.

The family will be at the home of Lynn & Tracy McCraw, 175 Oak Ridge Road, Gaffney.
