Christopher Comstock Ferguson passed away in a car accident on November 11, 2018, at the age of 29. Chris is survived by his mother Tracy Sprouse Ferguson, his father Mark Allen Ferguson, his siblings Jamie, Sarah and Mary, his grandmothers June Sprouse and Sandra Ferguson, and his nephews Ethan Ferguson and Christopher Kelleher.

To use the term "career" or "occupation" for Chris would be too limiting. He pursued many passions with fervor. When he was 15, Chris attended Socapa, a film school in Manhattan where he learned to direct, shoot, and edit film. He later turned his sights to acting and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a profession worthy of his charisma and presence. In Charleston, Chris learned the behind-the-scenes complexities of the fish market, and often shared his passion for salmon and his aversion to peeling shrimp with friends and family. Most recently, Chris developed a passion for European Cars, graduating from Garnet Career Center's Automotive Technology program and traveling to Modena, Italy to visit the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari.

Foremost, Chris was a writer. Chris completed a science-fiction novel and was working on the sequel. In A Future Blue World, Chris conceived a futuristic cyberpunk world. It is tempting to call A Future Blue World a dystopia, but it has an up-lifting undertone that is symbolic of the heartfelt mirth Chris brought to everything he touched. Chris struggled with addiction, inspiring others with his strength and perseverance. It is a blessing that the past year was one of his strongest and happiest.

We will remember Chris most for his ear-to-ear grin, his dynamic energy, and his undeniable cool. Chris's warmth and passion for life live on through his family, his supportive friends, and his black cat, Jack.

A celebration of Chris' life will be held on Saturday, November 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charleston located at 520 Kanawha Blvd. W, Charleston, WV 25302. Parking is available at the church or Grace Bible Church, or along Kanawha Blvd. Family and friends will share memories of Chris starting at 2 p.m. and a casual gathering will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for random acts of kindness in Chris' memory.

Memories of Christopher may be shared by visiting snodgrassfuneral.com and selecting the obituary. Snodgrass Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements.
