Born in Mountain Rest, SC, he was the son of the late Evan and Ella Ramey Nicholson. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Air Force and was a part of The American Legion of Greenville. He retired from BI-LO as a meat market manager and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Gertrud Schoegel Nicholson; two daughters: Monica Carver, Heidi Sipe (Steve); two grandchildren: Mandy Underwood, Elizabeth Carver; two great-grandchildren: Titus Lee Underwood and Israel Mark Sheridan.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters: Harry, Hazel, Mae, Eula, John Boyd, Hoyt and Sam.
