Mr. Cox went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 12, 2018, surrounded by family.
Walter was born on April 15, 1932, in Jacksonville, Texas, to parents Walter Copeland Cox and Maxine Hodges Cox, and his sister Dorothy and he spent their younger years living in Linden, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone who knew him.
Walter is survived by Mary Beth, his wife of 43 years, his son Walter Ray Cox, Jr., daughters Cheri Fulton and Marcie McLamore and husband Dane McLamore, step-daughters Melissa St. John and Natalie Herrera and husband Randy Herrera; niece Heather Alexander and husband Charles Alexander; grandchildren, Stephanie Price and husband Justin Price, Amber Perrard and husband Thomas Perrard, Justin Fink, Ryan Herrera and wife Dana Herrera, Michael Cox, Randi-Leigh Pipes and husband Eric Pipes, Lauren Carbonel and husband Casey Carbonel, Zach McLamore, Jordan Thomas and husband Reed Thomas, Jason Cox, Jessica St. John, Gunner Herrera, and Nathan Herrera and fiancee Ashley Goode; great-grandchildren Tory Perrard, Peyton Perrard, Eiley Price, Neil Price, Madison Howard, Braden Herrera, Safia Herrera, Beau Thomas, Braxton Herrera-Sigg, Andrew Pipes, & Alex Pipes.
