Doris L. Marshall of Lewes, DE, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at her home.

She was born in Frederick, MD, March 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Harry (Ed) and Ethel Phebus. She is survived by her partner of many years John Futcher, Lewes, DE; one daughter, Linda Tregoning, Sabillasville; grandson John Tregoning, Frederick; brothers Donald E. Phebus, Frederick and Clark Phebus, WV; as well as two grandsons, Jacob and Kyle Tregoning, Thurmont and numerouse nieces and nephews.

She retired in 1983 after 33 years of Federal service primarily at National Institute of Health, starting out as a clerk typist in 1952, until eventually becoming special assistant to the branch chief and then administrative officer in the Medical Arts and Photography Branch. Upon retiring, she moved to Delaware where she resided until her passing.

Known for her energy and dry sense of humor, she enjoyed flowers, reading, and cooking and was actively involved in the Reboboth American Legion for a number of years.

Funeral services will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, November 17, 2018. A reception/luncheon will be held between 2-3PM where the funeral service will begin at 3PM.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
