Martha Jane Holt, 97, of Confluence, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born June 24, 1921 in Confluence, a daughter of Charles and Emily (Knight) Beggs. Her parents, daughter, Jo Ann Vent, sisters, Dorothy Beggs, Elayne Kemp, Helen Rainey and a brother, Walter Beggs preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Joseph Holt, granddaughter, Jamie Atala and husband, Eric, Arlington, VA; great granddaughters, Emma and Morgan Atala; brother, Richard Beggs and wife, Patricia, Kutztown; son-in-law, Thomas Vent, Bedford and sister-in-law, Wilma Nicklow, Stoystown. Also, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Martha was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She chose the profession of motherhood and showered all her family with lots of love and support. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved her hometown of Confluence. The family would like to especially thank Three Rivers Hospice and her special team of caregivers for the love and support they gave Martha and the entire family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Friday with Rev. Samuel McClintock officiating. Interment in Addison Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Friday. The family suggests memorial contributions to Three Rivers Hospice, 2500 Mosside Blvd., Monroeville, PA 15146.
