Joseph A. “Buster” Harvey, 68, of Jesup died Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Jesup, served in the Georgia National Guard and was a long time employee of the City of Jesup Water Department. He also worked for many years with his father in the construction business and was known as a master equipment operator.

He enjoyed fishing, keeping Harvey Lake and the home place manicured so that his family and friends could enjoy his “pride and joy” with him and took every opportunity to host those he loved. He was loving, caring and loyal to family and his many friends and will truly be missed.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jarone and Ruth Graham Harvey; a sister, Lynn Grabe.
Survivors are two sisters, Sabra and Gary Priester, Jenny and Ned Nichols, both of Jesup; a brother-in-law, Russ Grabe; nieces and nephews, Ben and Seth Grabe, Casey, Laura Lynn, Shelby Nichols; step-niece and nephew, Amy Weiss and Mark Priester; numerous cousins including Elaine (Richard) Elliott, Maurice (Barbara) Sweat; very special friends, Shannon Spradley and family, Ron Ogden and family, Matthew Ogden, Gene Roberson and family, Vernon Spradley and family.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating. Interment will be in the Jesup City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ron Ogden, Matthew Ogden, Gene Roberson, Shannon Spradley, Eddie Williams and Stanley Efaw. Honorary pallbearers will be his former City of Jesup co-workers.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 PM prior to services at the chapel.
