Leah loved her farm and enjoyed watching all the crops grow. She watched all of the wildlife that would wander to her yard. There were deer, owls, cats, dogs, ducks, geese, beavers, skunks, birds, and many other animals. She was an avid collector of newspapers and any mention of anyone she knew, she would carefully save that article. She also collected dainty dishes and tea cups. Leah had a sharp memory and could remember dates, especially birthdays and anniversaries.
Leah was 1 of 14 children. She was proceeded in death by her parents: Jacob and Elizabeth (Biederman) Maier, her husband, Charles Delbert Cole (war veteran), and siblings: Albert, Alvin, Vic, Erna, Fred, Edna, Reuben, Otto, Ida, Leah, Bob, and Ray. Surviving are Verna (Jim) Cooper and Velda (Dale) Clark.
