Ora W. Jackson, age 83, of Cardington died Saturday morning May 26 at his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1934 on Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Floyd and Laura ( Williams ) Jackson.
Ora was a High Pressure Boiler Operator and worked a Whirlpool for 34 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Ora was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed hunting in his younger years.
On July 13, 1957, Ora married the former Nancy E. Tomlin and she survives.
Additional survivors are Ora's children; John W. Jackson of Marion, Jerry J. Jackson of Jacksonville, FL., and Garnet R. Jackson of Marion; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Garnet Mollet of Oak Hill, Ida-Bell Franks of AZ., Virginia Staley of VA., Anna Bales of VA., Pauline Jackson of Oak Hill and brother Charles Jackson of Oak Hill.

In addition to his parents, Ora was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and James Jackson and sister a Marilyn Jackson.

Friends may call on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the Gompf funeral Home, 440 Center St. in Cardington from 4:00 until 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Salem United Methodist Church with Reverend Beth Mansperger officiating. Ora's burial service will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
