Harold was born November 1, 1928 at Moorefield, NE to Clarence and LuLu (Wollam) Fox. The family moved to Gothenburg where Harold attended school, graduating in 1947.
After graduation, Harold joined the Merchant Marines and served as a Mess Man aboard the USS Hawaiian Banker.
On May 23, 1949, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruby E Smallfoot at Lexington, NE. They moved to Scottsbluff in 1958 then to Gering in 1961.
Harold was employed with Metz Baking Co. and delivered bread throughout the panhandle and eastern Wyoming, retiring in 1990.
Harold enjoyed playing golf and in recent years he passed the time watching Westerns, the Huskers, and visits with his family, who he always referred to as his pride and joy.
Harold is survived by four sons: Warren (Lori) Fox of Lyons, Tim (Julie) Fox of Gering, Don (Bonnie) Fox of Scottsbluff, Alan (Deb) Fox of Nebraska City; two daughters: Karen (Stan) Mackowski of Cozad, and Christie (Rod) Zwetzig of Gering; two brothers: Don (Ethel) Fox of Cozad, and Harley (Kathleen) Fox of Ogallala; thirteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Step-father Don Swanson, wife Ruby in 1988, and brother Ray and his wife Anna Marie Fox.
