Mr. Davis was born on March 17, 1940, in Laurens County, Georgia, to the late Johnnie Davis and Addie Mae Hightower Davis. At an early age, he joined Mt. McCrae Baptist Church, which later became Greater New Friendship Baptist Church. He served faithfully with the Male Choir and the Benevolent Ministry until his health failed. He was retired from Rockwell Automation after over 30 years of employment. Later, he chose to continue employment with Bridges Electric and with Laurens County Collection and Recycle Center.
Mr. Davis passed away on November 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son, Ulysses S. Davis, Jr., and his siblings, Myrtis Rozier, James Davis and Daphene Harris.
The family is receiving friends on Wednesday, November 14, 6-7 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home.
