Spc David Berhle of Tipton, Iowa was a Tipton High School graduate where he was senior class president. He also played football, golf and wrestling while there. He had just recently paid a visit to the school and had chatted with some former teachers while he was home on leave from Iraq. David was extraordinarily well regarded by his fellow students. That's why they selected him to speak at their senior class commencement ceremony in the spring of 2005, even though he didn't graduate at the top of his class academically. He attended mass with his family at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was 20.
