Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Although we all will miss Kat dearly, we have peace knowing that she is in heaven with all of her dogs and with her husband, Sam Martinez, as well as other family members that passed before her.
She passed away peacefully in her home. She was born on August 3, 1942, in Firestone, Colorado, to the late Alex and Lillie Hattel. She attended and graduated from Frederick High School in 1960. Kat married Sam in 1963. Kat enjoyed cooking big meals for her family to enjoy. She loved to go camping and fishing and made many memories with family and friends by the lake shore (fish on). She enjoyed working as a brick layer with her husband Sam. Kat had a love for ALL of her dogs, especially the dog she left behind, CeCe.
She leaves behind daughters Traci and Kim and stepson Rick, her granddaughters Sami Jo, Candace and Kay Kay. She is survived by her sister-in-law Charlette, and brother in-laws Max, Roy and Ruben as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and friends.
Kat was preceded in death by her parents Lillie and Alex Hattel, and her brother Alex Hattel. Her husband Sam Martinez, her brother-in-laws Leo, Felix, John and Nick Martinez, and her sister-in-laws Polly Pacheco, and Ida Trujillo.
A Rosary for Kat will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 436 Fifth Street, Frederick, CO 80530. Refreshments will follow at the Bella Rosa Golf Course, 5830 Bella Rosa Pkwy, Frederick, CO 80504. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory, 14241 N 107th Street, Longmont, CO 80504. Reception to follow at the Bella Rosa Golf Course
