Karen Louise Carlson, 77, of Virginia, formerly of Cook, MN passed away on Sunday November 11, 2018 at Essentia Health Care Center. She was born in Lisbon, North Dakota on January 20, 1941, daughter of Clayton and Abelona (Wittliff) Carlson.

She moved to Cook in 1944, and then moved to Virginia, MN in 2000, where she has resided since. Karen was employed at the Hill's Box Factory in Cook, MN for over 35 years until she retired. Karen enjoyed embroidering, going to rummage sales, and collecting owls.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents: Clayton and Abelona Carlson; sister Dorothy Rent; brother Darrel Carlson; and nephew Clayton Rent.

She is survived by her sisters: Ardis (Darrel) Sandvig and Diane Maher; brother-in-law, Leonard Rent; nieces who she called her right and left arm: Sandy Addy and Cyndee Forsman; and other numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment was in the Cook Community Cemetery.
