I am Gloria Curry. I was born on January 16, 1959 to Leland and Bonnie (Smith) Curry of South Sioux City, NE. On November 27, 2014 I passed from this world to rejoin my parents.
I attended school in South Sioux City where I graduated in 1977. During my high school years, I enjoyed writing poetry, quilting and sewing. After high school I worked at several different jobs while raising my two children. Several years later I returned to school at Western Iowa Tech Community College and after two years transferred to Wayne State College where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. I have been employed by Tyson Fresh Meats in Dakota Dunes, SD for fifteen years.
Although I lost part of my eyesight I still enjoy trying to sew and quilt. I also enjoy spending time with my family shopping, going to the casino, or just spending time together.
Survivors include my son Dean Curry and his significant other, Janelle Brown of Sioux City, IA; my daughter, Lora Curry of Hinton, IA; my favorite little girl, AaLynn, my granddaughter; my special little boy, Adrian, my grandson; two step-granddaughters, Harley and Brianna; brothers, Roger Curry of South Sioux City, Jim Curry of Sioux City, Robert Curry and his wife, Pat, of Sioux City, and Tom and his wife, Dixie; sisters, Lorna Custer of South Sioux City, Donna Curry of South Sioux City, Alice Erickson and husband Eldon of Minneapolis, Ruth Sheechin of Omaha, Clara Detrick of California; sister-in-law, Charlotte Curry; brother-in-law, John Grauser; several other children and grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.
I was preceded in death by my parents; sisters, Linda Sue, Bonnie Lea, Edith Grouser and Eva Wiggs; brother, Donald Curry; and brothers-in-law Alvin Wiggs, Donald Detrick, and Elmer Sheechin.
Pallbearers will be A. J. Canoles, Jay Keller, Tucker Riedman, Robbie Tarno, Matt Baker, and Danny Vander Veen. Honorary pallbearers are JeNel Baker, Amy Bauer, Kim Vander Veen, Brittany Riedman, and Lisa Logsdon.
To all my friends and family, I want to thank you for the help you've given to me. I love you all.
